Taking a break

Filed under: Online Dating — James @ 8:14 pm

Dating. Sometimes I have to take a break from it. It’s more like I get burned out. I still read the emails and winks I receive via my online dating profiles but I have not contacted anyone in a long time. In fact, I have to admit that I have been a bit of a slacker this year.

That does not mean I am just staying at home. Well, I am spending more time than usual at home but I am enjoying it. I have been saving a great deal of money! Actually, what has me wanting to take a break from dating are all the strange women I have met recently. I don’t know if I am attracted to strange women or if they are attracted to me. How strange? I will write more about that soon – stay tuned!

Review of eHarmony

Filed under: Online Dating — James @ 10:16 pm

If you’re like me and like to be proactive you may not like eHarmony. I went thru eHarmony’s questionnaire and then waited. And waited.

eHarmony finds you a match based on your answers – it is not like most other online dating sites where you get to browse and select who you will contact. Sometimes you go days or weeks without an introduction. I did get a few matches and, looking over their profiles, some of them did seem interesting. But, I never did have a physical attraction and I do need to have a physical attraction. Of course, this is mutual – I had a lot fewer women contacting me via eHarmony.

Considering the number of introductions I received and the fact that I was not introduced to anyone that I had a physical attraction to, the price was very steep. It was suggested that I should remain with eHarmony for at least six months for to give the system a chance to find me the right match and I did that. Soon after that, I canceled my membership and moved on.
